Etching is the act or process of making designs or pictures on a metal plate, glass, etc., by the corrosive action of an acid instead of by a burin. It is an art that really fulfil me. I learned this technique while studying in South Africa. We had an extraordinary teacher who gave us the love of etching.

A few years ago, I started printing from solar plates. This technique was invented by an artist called Dan Welden. Solarplate is a light sensitized steel backed polymer material used by artists as an alternative to hazardous printing techniques. It is a simple, safer, and faster approach than traditional etching and relief printing. You may learn more about "printing in the sun" by following this link :

I am so happy to perpetuate an art which demands discipline and precision. Lately, I started producing monoprints which, as the name suggests, is printed in only one copy. Printing is a big part of my journey as an artist.
