ORIGINAL PAINTINGS
I call my painting style the "Zafer style"—a Mauritian Creole word used for something undefined. It reflects an unclassifiable, highly stylised, and surreal approach to art.
My work blends psychedelic, pop art, and abstract expressionism, featuring:
-
Bold Use of Color – My paintings feature vibrant and highly saturated hues, with an emphasis on contrasting colours to create a lively, almost electric feel.
-
Geometric and Patterned Elements – The objects are filled with geometric shapes and repetitive patterns, adding a sense of rhythm and movement.
-
Heavy Outlining and Stylisation – Thick outlines define forms, adding to the strong graphical quality of the paintings.
This style is deeply inspired by the emotional intensity of Vincent van Gogh. It is both emotional and utopian, evoking a dreamlike world where nature and geometry merge in harmony—an ideal realm beyond reality’s harshness.
Painting in this style is not only creative but also therapeutic. It helps me cope with mental health challenges by providing relief, clarity, and emotional release. Through colour, form, and repetition, I find balance and stability.
