I had the joy of being invited by the "partage" group, represented by the famous Mauritian artist Krishna Luchoomun to participate in a painting workshop organised by the Australian High Commission in honour of Robert Malherbe, an Australian painter of Mauritian origin who was invited to Mauritius. Robert Malherbe is a well known international artist residing in Sydney. It was a fantastic experience for me to be among some great Mauritian artists in the Pamplemousses botanical gardens.
Her excellency the Australian High Commissioner, Mrs Jenny Dee (who can be seen in the photo) touched me by her kindness and accessibility. This workshop took place on Australia Day and each painter produced a painting in his own style. It was a great opportunity to share my passion with the artists present there. I produced a painting of Mon Plaisir house with a banian tree upfront. A Zafer style painting of course !
