This painting titled " The elephant upstairs " is an image that makes sense to me. The need to illustrate my feelings is becoming more important in my painting. Gradually, I move away from the simple reproduction of a landscape and I enter unknown territory. Last year, I took a painting course with Alix Le Juge and a workshop with Christyna Smith-Jauffret, both great Mauritian artists and they both helped me put my emotions in order so that I could better reproduce them on canvas. I thank Alix and Christyna with all my heart.
Ce tableau intitulé « L’éléphant du dessus » est une image qui a du sens pour moi. Le besoin d’illustrer mes pensées est en train de prendre de l’importance dans ma peinture. Peu à peu, je m’éloigne de la simple reproduction d’un paysage et j’entre en terrain inconnu. L’année dernière, j’ai suivi un cours de peinture avec Alix Le juge et un atelier de travail avec Christyna Smith-Jauffret, toutes deux, grandes artistes mauriciennes et elles m’ont toutes deux aidé à mettre en ordre mes émotions afin de mieux pouvoir les reproduire sur canevas. Je remercie de tout mon coeur Alix et Christyna.
